The Old Stables is a spacious, well-appointed barn conversion in a peaceful rural setting, ideal for families and groups exploring Chester, Liverpool, and the surrounding countryside. Guests consistently praise its comfort, beautiful views, and convenient location near local amenities and pubs. The property is generally clean and cosy, with a welcoming atmosphere and helpful hosts. While some minor maintenance issues and occasional cleaning oversights are noted, these do not detract from the overall positive experience. Thoughtful touches, such as fresh eggs from the owners, are appreciated but not guaranteed.
Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, with several describing it as spotless. However, a few reviews mention cobwebs, crumbs, and some areas needing a deeper clean, which slightly lowers the score.
The location is highly praised for its peaceful countryside setting, beautiful views, and proximity to Chester, Liverpool, and local amenities such as supermarkets and pubs.
Guests frequently mention the spaciousness, comfortable beds, and cosy atmosphere, especially with the log burner. A few noted issues with specific beds and sofas being less comfortable, but overall comfort remains a strong point.
The cottage is well-equipped with modern kitchens and bathrooms, ample communal space, and good parking. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues, small fridge/freezer, and a lack of storage for groceries, but these did not significantly impact their stay.
Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as a warm welcome and occasional gifts like fresh eggs from the owners. Please note, such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

We used this as a base for a wedding on the weekend. The place was gorgeous and so tastefully renovated. Did see some reviews abut it being a little tired and some cobwebs, but we honestly had no issues with it. The owners were lovely and helpful. I would definitely stay again if I was over that way in the future. A great and enjoyable weekend, thank you

Lovely apartment in very good location. Ideally placed for Chester, Chester Zoo, Blue Planet, Cheshire Oaks and Knowsley Safari Park. Good pub /restaurant very close by. We took our 2 teenage grandchildren who were able to have their own rooms. Only point is that the main bedroom is advertised as having bath and toilet but there isn't a toilet.
