There is also the option of stable use by prior arrangement (additional cost), useful if you plan to bring horses to enjoy the surrounding routes. When you fancy a change of scene, head to Carsington Water, the Tissington Trail or nearby Ashbourne and Dovedale for further paths and changing landscapes.

This place is fabulous, really comfortable, extremely well equipped, hard to find anything to criticise really (and we do love a good moan!). Things that are often missing in holiday cottages were there in abundance - bedside lights galore and a proper teapot! Beds very comfortable. Kitchen huge. Host quick to respond. Loads of room, there were only 4 of us but 4 couples would fit just fine. Very peaceful surroundings, there was hardly any traffic on the road outside, just a few farm vehicles every now and then. It is on a Manchester Airport flightpath, so you get a frequent gentle rumble of jet airliners quite high up. We had a lovely time, visited Carsington Water and Heights of Abraham, walked Wolfscote Dale, cycled Tissington trail (tip - hire bikes/start in Ashbourne, as it's mostly downhill on the way back), and strolled to Thor's Cave, all within 30mins drive. Definitely recommend.

What an amazing place to stay. Location was fabulous and the house was spacious and clean. We were a family of 7 staying and there was plenty space for everyone to spread out. Lots of games as well as a Wii for the kids.Large grounds with a BBQ and table perfect for Al fresco dining.We had a wonderful holiday and hope to return someday.

Our party of five adults and one dog had a lovely holiday at Agnes Meadow for a week in July. The house is spacious and nicely furnished with everything required for a pleasant holiday in the quiet surrounding countryside. The large kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses and quality appliances including an air fryer and Nespresso coffee machine. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space to chill out in the spacious dining kitchen, sitting room and conservatory. We were lucky enough to have nice sunny weather during our stay and spent a significant amount of time outside in the large garden. The house is only a 10-minute drive from Ashbourne and is convenient for many other local attractions including Carsington Water and Dovedale which we visited during our stay. Communication with the host was excellent prior to our arrival and I would have no hesitation in booking another holiday at Agnes Meadow.
