The town's historic market hall dates back to the 17th century, and a contemporary recreation facility with a pool is close by. In the Peak District National Park, Bakewell is conveniently located for visiting this stunning area. Within reasonable driving distance are Britain's top theme park, Alton Towers, as well as the rocky Black Peak and the softer limestone White Peak. The spectacular caverns in neighbouring Castleton and Little John's burial site in Hathersage are both well worth a visit, as are the other stately homes to be visited, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall to name a few. Apart from that really nice place. Only bizarre thing we thought was that we had to strip the bed, never had to do this anywhere else and I donât think it should be for the guests to do.

Perfect location for touring the area and very dog friendly. The maintenance chap Mark was super friendly and very busy as he has a lot of grounds to maintain. We could not use pool as we have dogs which meant someone has to be with them and there is no lone swimming. Understandable but disappointing. Little tip, take take salt and pepper as none provided and extra bin bags and washing up liquid. Would definitely come back.
