Guests say

Pine Cottage in the Peak District & Derbyshire Dales offers a stunning patio view and is praised for its cleanliness, location, and pet-friendly policy. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and the village amenities, including local pubs and shops. The cottage's charm and the option for countryside walks add to its appeal, despite some feedback on comfort and maintenance.

The cottage generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with several guests noting it as spotless and tidy. However, there are mentions of a dog odour and a need for deeper cleaning in some areas, slightly affecting the overall perception.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, proximity to local walks, and village amenities. The south-facing patio and the ease of parking are frequently mentioned as highlights, contributing to a high score.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, but there are several comments about the living room seating and the size of the beds being less than ideal, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

The cottage is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, but there are recurring issues with the gas fire, shower pressure, and lighting. Maintenance concerns, such as a broken toilet seat and the need for better-quality linen, are noted.

While guests express gratitude for amenities and the pet-friendly nature of the cottage, there is insufficient information on thoughtful gestures such as gifts to accurately assess this category.

Obviously Pine Cottage, the Village of Yougreave and surrounding area tick every box. Thank you for yet another perfect holiday!

We found Pine Cottage to be adequately provided within the confines of an intriguing and cramped old cottage having character common to this unique and fascinating village. There were two of us - a party of four adults would probably find it short on space, especially in wet weather. I notice (review Dec 2023) the toilet seat broke. Its replacement was loose and flimsy, and broke again. I purchased and fitted a sturdy replacement. Both kitchen and bathroom would benefit from additional lighting above sink and washbasin respectively. The lovely view to the South is disappointingly marred by failed double-glazing units. Thank you for our holiday. Dennis & Glenys.

The cottage suits us very well, especially when we have good weather and can enjoy the terrace. It is absolutely wonderful, on a June evening, having a drink, enjoying the view, and watching the birds overhead. We find the beds comfortable, though we bring our own pillows, and now that light-blocking curtains have been added we sleep well. The kitchen has everything we need. We cook Sunday dinners in there. The front room is still lacking in comfort not provided by the large number of cushions that have appeared but we’ll book again, for next year, as the positives outweigh all that. It is super clean and housekeeping contacted us this year to ask how we wanted the beds which was appreciated. We were also very pleased to be allowed to stay for an extra night at a very reasonable cost. Thank you.
