A charming little market town with a charming rural feel that offers a nice assortment of stores, eateries, and bars in addition to regional farmers markets. The town's historic market hall dates back to the 17th century, and a contemporary recreation facility with a pool is close by. In the Peak District National Park, Bakewell is conveniently located for visiting this stunning area. Within reasonable driving distance are Britain's top theme park, Alton Towers, as well as the rocky Black Peak and the softer limestone White Peak. The spectacular caverns in neighbouring Castleton and Little John's burial site in Hathersage are both well worth a visit, as are the other stately homes to be visited, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall to name a few. The listing states the pool is 1 mile away, imagine our delight finding it 100yds away onsite. The Farmhouse was packed with character and ten people were easily accommodated for. The little extras made all the difference, dishwasher tablets, dish cloths, tea towels, coffee pods, sugar, things you may not pack. Our only complaint was the rust in the microwave which is now flaking into items being heated, for the price of a microwave it simply needs replacing.

The house its self was lovely and spacious and in an ideal location had a fabulous time with my family and the swimming pool was an added bonus as the weather was a bit hit and miss .

the listings for the bedrooms are incorrect. The website states two super kingsize rooms, 2 kingsize and a twin. However there are 2 twin rooms and only one super kingsize. It was tricky to figure out the heating the upstairs room to the left with the en-suite was really hot through the night I was worried about my baby over heating. We turned all the radiators off and had the window open and was still too warm we couldnât figure out why as the other rooms upstairs seemed a lot cooler. Other than the warm room our stay was lovely and we would definitely recommend.
