Why not treat yourself to a delicious meal at the 17th century Miners Standard PH. Several tourist attractions orbit Winster, including Rowtor Rocks and The Hidden Druid Caves to the north. A short drive east will bring you to Matlock, a town home to the stunning Lumsdale Waterfall, Peak District Mining Museum, and the Heights of Abraham cable car and cavern tours. The market town of Bakewell is nearby, where the historic landmarks of Motte Bakewell and Bakewell Bridge can be found. Enjoy a refreshing break with your loved ones by booking a stay at this fantastic, pet friendly cottage, Bradley House.

The conservation village of Winster, located in the Peak District National Park's White Peak region, is a very picturesque place with a charming 17th-century market house at its centre and several large 17th- and 18th-century homes, many of which are three stories tall. Ginnels, or the alleyways that connect the three main streets of Main Street, East Bank, and West Bank, are definitely worth investigating. Winster's Morris dancers, the yearly Shrove Tuesday pancake race, the Wakes celebrations in June, and the Hidden Gardens of Winster celebration in July are all well-known attractions. A well-stocked, locally owned general shop with a Post Office is located in the settlement. There are two pubs, and they both provide traditional beer and food. For avid walkers and bikers, The Limestone Way runs along the edge of the settlement. Other nearby attractions include Bakewell, Matlock, Chatsworth House, and the Peak Rail Steam Train. Less than 5 miles from the village are the Tissington and High Peaks walking and cycling paths, which provide for excellent starting points for exploring the Peak District. Bike rentals are also available at both locations.

A very-well equipped and comfortable cottage in a beautiful village. It would have helped to have more detailed location information as we did struggle to find the cottage initially, not ideal in torrential rain!
