This Idyllic Derbyshire Cottage sits in an elevated position overlooking the glorious hills of Matlock in the wonderful Peak District. The grade II listed cottage attains a high level of modern opulence, but cleverley retains many of the original features that make this cottage a very special place to stay.
There is plenty of room for both adults and children with four bedrooms, one bedroom offering ensuite facilities and three more bedrooms which share a stunning family bathroom with freestanding bath to soak in or a separate shower. On the ground floor, you will discover a large country style kitchen with all mod cons and a large living room. There is a separate dining room with an extendable table just off the living room, too. The cottage boasts a cosy snug, ideal for a nap or to read that latest novel. Through the snug, you will discover a sunroom with French doors that soak up the sun and welcome you into the garden area with its large table for everyone to gather around on a sunny day. A perfect country cottage garden opens out from the property with an array of beautiful plants and shrubs. Matlock and Matlock Bath are close by, giving the opportunity to explore the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom accessed through a cable car, and offering spectacular views of the Derwent Valley. From here you can tour the network of caverns and passageways or walk over sixty acres of woodland hillside. An ideal base from which to explore the region’s attractions including the magnificent stately homes. The beautiful Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are an absolute must see. Visit the picturesque villages of Bakewell and Ashover both close by. Excellent walking can be found from the doorstep, plus activities at Carsington Water including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and cycling, plus excellent birdwatching in the surrounding areas.

The whole family loved this cottage. Safe garden for the dogs, well kitted out kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and lots to do walking distance or a short drive away. The tarts and other supplies waiting for us were a lovely touch.

Beautiful but not what we expected. Very low beams. Dark rooms. Busy road in front. Not easy to go into with a car.Not easy to walk(steep)to village.Garden in front was beautiful but noisy. Kitchen was nice.

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous and any idyllic spot to stop if you want to explore Derbyshire. There was a great pub a 5 minute walk away and Matlock Bath was only 10 minutes walk too. A short drive gave loads of great options to trips out.The cottage itself is gorgeous and love it's cosy feel with the fires and authentic decoration. It was well stocked with games and options and ways to get cosy if the weather was chilly.The owner was also very responsive and super helpful - overall I could not recommend this cottage enough
