This Idyllic Derbyshire Cottage sits in an elevated position overlooking the glorious hills of Matlock in the wonderful Peak District. The grade II listed cottage attains a high level of modern opulence, but cleverley retains many of the original features that make this cottage a very special place to stay.
There is plenty of room for both adults and children with four bedrooms, one bedroom offering ensuite facilities and three more bedrooms which share a stunning family bathroom with freestanding bath to soak in or a separate shower. On the ground floor, you will discover a large country style kitchen with all mod cons and a large living room. There is a separate dining room with an extendable table just off the living room, too. The cottage boasts a cosy snug, ideal for a nap or to read that latest novel. Through the snug, you will discover a sunroom with French doors that soak up the sun and welcome you into the garden area with its large table for everyone to gather around on a sunny day. A perfect country cottage garden opens out from the property with an array of beautiful plants and shrubs. Matlock and Matlock Bath are close by, giving the opportunity to explore the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom accessed through a cable car, and offering spectacular views of the Derwent Valley. From here you can tour the network of caverns and passageways or walk over sixty acres of woodland hillside. An ideal base from which to explore the region’s attractions including the magnificent stately homes. The beautiful Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are an absolute must see. Visit the picturesque villages of Bakewell and Ashover both close by. Excellent walking can be found from the doorstep, plus activities at Carsington Water including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and cycling, plus excellent birdwatching in the surrounding areas.

What a fantastic holiday venue for a week with the family. A well equipped cottage with lots of room & a great social garden area for the grandchildren to enjoy. Would highly recommend. Lots to do with in walking distance & a great local pub The White Lion for a pint or two.. Many Thanks to Eloise

Spotless and charming . Our party consisted of three adults , two teenagers and a 5 month old baby . There was plenty of space for all both inside and out . Beautiful mature front garden with a large table for sitting around and eating on warmer nights . A good base for exploring the surrounding area. Not an abundance of good restaurants locally but the Gate in Tansley was decent and fair priced. Thank you .

The whole family loved this cottage. Safe garden for the dogs, well kitted out kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and lots to do walking distance or a short drive away. The tarts and other supplies waiting for us were a lovely touch.
