Good, modern facilities, spacious. Dining table for four, which some may find a bit cramped, in the kitchen. Good selection of DVDs, puzzles and books. Lounge and main bedroom (en-suite) on first floor, twin bedroom, shower/toilet and kitchen on the ground floor. Good location for Matlock/Matlock Bath/Bakewell/Buxton/Ashbourne Next to a road, which had a reasonable amount of traffic coming past, but because of the thickness of the walls, it wasnât hugely noticeable.

The kitchen is well stocked with every utensil and gadget you could need - plus a lovely little welcome hamper in arrival. The washing machine and tumble dryer were an excellent addition when holidaying with small kiddos. The beds were comfortable, the cottage clean and very warm despite the drizzly October weather. The smart TV, puzzles and games left for us were put to good use in the evenings. Would definitely recommend Toad Cottage. We didn't want to leave.

Like home from home. Lovely welcome pack even snacks for our dog. Great location for Matlock and Bakewell. We did the Bakewell loop, approx 3.25 miles dog walk around Bakewell. Would definitely recommend this walk. Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Grouse Inn and evening meal at the Grouse & Claret. Would definitely recommend a visit. Thanks for making our holiday memorable.
