Guests say

Wynns Cottage in Tideswell is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, prime location for exploring the Peak District, and cosy comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and the proximity to local amenities. While there are some minor concerns about parking and maintenance, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many expressing a desire to return.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be immaculately clean upon arrival, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleanliness issues such as a blocked shower plug and spider webs. These appear to be exceptions rather than the norm.

The cottage's location is consistently praised for its convenience to local pubs, shops, and attractions within the Peak District. The village of Tideswell is described as beautiful, and the property is considered a great base for exploring the area.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, with a warm stove and personal touches. Some guests mentioned the sofas being uncomfortable, and there were comments about low beams and steep steps, which could affect the comfort for some visitors.

The cottage is well-equipped with a stocked kitchen, TV with Netflix, and other amenities. However, there are remarks about a non-working DVD player, issues with a shower, and a discrepancy in the number of WCs. The maintenance of facilities like the gate and recycling management also received some criticism.

While many guests have praised the cottage's amenities and comfort, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches beyond the general provision of facilities. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness based on the available reviews.

About this property

A perfect country cottage in one of the best villages in the Peak District.

In a jumble of cottages just up from the centre of Tideswell is this superb country cottage. It has been carefully decorated and furnished while keeping many of the original features. The cottage has a lounge with glowing log burning stove, attractive dining kitchen, two good size double bedrooms one with a substantial king size bed, a family bathroom, en-suite shower room and downstairs cloakroom with WC. Outside there is a sunny patio with garden furniture.

Wander down into the village and you will find traditional shops, a small supermarket, tearooms, friendly pubs, fish and chip shops and a superb restaurant. Venture a little further and you can be walking besides the River Wye in Water-cum-Jolly Dale or on the Limestone Way heading out across the Peaks.

Of course, Derbyshire's numerous attractions are close-by too. Buxton and its amazing Opera House or Bakewell with its famous Pudding have got to be on your list. Chatsworth House with its beautiful gardens, adventure playground and farmyard is another must. Have an exciting day exploring Castleton's 'Blue John' caverns or perhaps hire a cycle to explore the Monsal or High Peak Trails.

At the end of the day call at one of the village pubs before enjoying the last glass on the cottage's patio.

This is our 6th year returning to Tideswell and our 5th cottage having stayed in the same one twice. This was our first cottage out of the square and I must say we wouldn’t stay out of the square again, this Cottage however was the cleanest
