Cheshire House is a wonderful, four-bedroom holiday home settled at the heart of Castleton, a quaint village in Derbyshire. Perfectly located close to shops, pubs, and restaurants, this charming property is ideal for families, friends or couples looking to explore the countless wonders dotted throughout the magnificent Peak National Park. Park up off-road, with space for 2 cars before you step into your welcoming new abode. Entering your new home, be immediately embraced by warm, inviting décor, and get to work in the fully-equipped kitchen. Here, the chosen chef can cook up delicious home-cooked dinners that can be tucked into around the dining table, before you and your loved ones kick back and unwind in front of the electric fire in the plush sitting room. When the sun is shining or the evenings warm, head outside to the enclosed courtyard, where you can savour a glass of your favourite tipple or a spot of stargazing in the outdoor hot tub. When the night draws to a close, head upstairs and choose between four beautifully-appointed bedrooms; a super-king and king-size, each with en-suite shower rooms, along with a double and a single. Begin your day with a rejuvenating shower, savour a morning coffee, and then set out to explore your local area. Greet the morning with a scenic walk through the rolling hills and lush green countryside that surround Castleton, taking a stroll along the Peakshole Water, before you head back into the village to explore all it has to offer; from ancient churches to the awe-inspiring Peveril Castle. Take a tour of the brilliant nearby spot of Treak Cliff and Speedwell Caverns to witness amazing crystals, stalactites, and stalagmites, or for something more relaxing, indulge with a traditional afternoon tea at the Bakewell Tea Room. Chatsworth House, home of Duke and Duchess of Devonshire is within close proximity to Cheshire House and there is a Peak District hop on hop off open top double decker bus that can take you to Chatsworth House and many other places of interest. Venture further and marvel at the stunning Georgian architecture of Buxton's town centre, whilst being sure to visit the breathtaking limestone caves of Poole's Cavern. For even more activity, embark on a scenic hike up the National Trust landscape of Dark Peak, where you can bask in the unspoiled beauty of the Hope Valley. The outstandingly beautiful Peak District village of Castleton is situated at the top of the Hope Valley, on the doorstep of some great walking country. Steeped in fascinating history, the village boasts the Norman Peverill Castle Keep which is in a commanding position keeping an eye on the village and the National Park. The village is a draw to walkers and all manner of outdoor enthusiasts wanting to follow the paths, conquer the Winnats Pass or have a go at caving. Castleton is world-famous for its visitor caves and the beautiful semi precious stone Blue John which is only found and mined here. Castleton has a fabulous array of interesting little gift shops, pubs, tea rooms and an excellent Visitor Centre with its small museum explaining life in the Hope Valley, plus the Christmas lights and festive activities are very popular with visitors during December. Nearby are the pretty villages of Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, Hope and Hathersage with its seasonal outdoor swimming pool. Enjoy a day out at Alton Towers or visit the impressive Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Also within easy reach are Buxton, Matlock Bath and Carsington Water, while further afield are the market towns of Ashbourne and Leek.
