About this property

Edale 1.5 miles.

This is an immaculately-presented semi-detached cottage, set next to the owners' home on the outskirts of the village of Edale, with uninterrupted views of the hills in this beautiful part of the Derbyshire Peak District. This cottage is situated beside a bridleway, connecting many miles of outstanding countryside, and is therefore ideal for mountain bikers, cyclists and walkers. Beautifully furnished throughout to provide spacious accommodation, this Edale cottage is perfect for a family to enjoy the outdoor life on offer in the Peak District. There are three spacious bedrooms and with the open plan living area, there is plenty of room to enjoy each other's company and plan the day's activities in this wonderful part of Derbyshire. Outside is a pretty garden with a patio and lawn where you can enjoy a drink on sunny evenings whilst you watch the sun set over the stunning countryside views. Edale is a lovely village community with a Post Office, shop and a couple of good pubs serving food, but it is best known as the start of the famous Pennine Way, and all around are excellent walks for all abilities. Nearby is the popular village of Castleton with its Blue John Cavern and castle as well as the pretty Hope Valley villages. The spa town of Buxton with its shops, restaurants and magnificent Opera House is within easy reach or you could spend a day exploring the magnificent Ladybower Reservoir. A wonderful family cottage to enjoy at any time of the year!

The lovely High Peaks village of Edale is the start of the Pennine way and lies at the foot of Kinder Scout. It has two pubs, and one of them, The Nags Head, is usually accepted as the start of The Pennine Way walk. With credentials like these it's little wonder that the area attracts so many walkers, and they won't be disappointed. The village has a general store combined with a post office and a Moorland Visitor Centre. Castleton is only four miles away and is a village that has something for everyone, a ruined Norman Castle, Blue John caves and all under the auspicious gaze of Mam Tor, "The Shivering Mountain." All in all the charming village of Edale is a fabulous holiday location.

Walks were just outside the house. The house had everything we needed, especially WiFi; that was great inside and out, in the garden.

Would love to back again in the future,

As the other reviewers say, the photos don't do it justice. The view right out the door/window is breathtaking, and there are paths into the hills right behind the cottage. We stayed with two small kids and they loved it too. We would love to come again.
