Country cottage meets boutique hotel in this immaculate, stone-built semi-detached cottage, which sits in the centre of Castleton in the pretty Peak District National Park. This is the ideal choice for a couple or a family group, whether you’re seeking an action-packed adventure or a relaxing time sampling the restaurants and real ale pubs that make up Castleton; there’s nothing to stop you doing both of course! The entrance hall leads into the lounge where the traditional beams, wooden flooring, charming woodburning stove and stone hearth blend seamlessly with the contemporary furniture and designer soft furnishings. From here, step into the farmhouse-style open kitchen/diner, with its quaint stable door and beautiful, shabby chic dining furniture and dresser.
Double French windows open out to the private, enclosed garden with views across the surrounding countryside to the stunning hills of the Hope Valley. On the first floor, there are three delightful bedrooms with a real feel of a character country hotel, along with a designer bathroom with rain shower. There’s so much to see from your doorstep you could park your car and leave it parked until you reluctantly head for home. There aren’t many places in the world where you could have your breakfast then take a short stroll to a explore a castle, take a boat trip through a cave 450m underground, or join one of the many spectacular trails offering some of the best walking and cycling to be found.
If they can tear themselves away from the independent shops, cafes and restaurants in Castleton, then city slickers and shopaholics can get their fix just 10 miles away in the stunning spa town of Buxton. The outstandingly beautiful Peak District village of Castleton is situated at the top of the Hope Valley, on the doorstep of some great walking country. Castleton is world-famous for its visitor caves. Castleton has a fabulous array of interesting little gift shops, some fantastic food pubs and an excellent Visitor Centre with its small museum explaining life in the Hope Valley, plus the Christmas lights and festive activities are very popular during December.

The kitchen is so well stocked that you can cook with the equipment and utensils that one needs. It has lots of character and is very nicely decorated to give it a unique and arty look. The owner is very helpful and is available on hand for any questions or concerns. We have revisited this lovely cottage this year and will be returning again. A holiday that is made so much nicer when staying at this cottage. Thank you.

! Plenty of room for the 6 of us (4 adults & 2 kids) plus our dog. The cottage feels so cosy but so spacious at the same time. Beds were very comfy, plenty of storage & everything you need in the kitchen for a weekend break. Lovely touch with the bottle of wine

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage; for my Wife and I itâs the perfect little home away from home. Truth be told, Iâd much rather this cottage be a hidden gem, an unknown and untouched, so I can use it all the time in a very selfish way. But the cottage deserves to be shared and enjoyed! Castleton has so many different walks on its door step, so many different pubs, shops and local produce. There was nothing we enjoyed more than going for a good long walk, and then relaxing in the cosy cottage before heading to the pub for a well deserved meal. As already stated, the Grange Cottage is a real home away from home and acts as the perfect spot to enjoy the Peak District from. The Owner is also incredibly helpful, she helped with any enquiries we had prior to our stay. The Owner was very professional, helpful and quick to offer assistance; being so approachable helps make the cottage to be much more welcoming.
