The settlement is popular with hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts who want to follow the trails, ascend the Winnats Pass, or try caving. The stunning semi-precious stone Blue John, which can only be found and mined in Castleton, is recognised across the world for its tourist caves. Castleton has a fantastic selection of unique little gift stores, pubs, tea rooms, and a fantastic tourist centre with a small museum illustrating life in the Hope Valley.

    It is a lovely cottage & we had a wonderful stay, thank you. The only comment about comfort was it was a little hot at night (I think the duvets were perhaps a little thick) and there were one or two cobwebs in areas but these were minor. Thank you
