Hade Edge is tucked away south of Holmfirth in West Yorkshire, on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park. From a small hamlet, it has grown to include a school, football team, sailing team and a tavern called the Algy Arms. The village is also home to the stunning Holme Styes Reservoir, and there is a 6-mile circular walk that passes the reservoir on its way to Snailsden Edge and Snailsden Reservoir via Clough Wood and Harden Reservoir; this walk is ideal for those looking for some fresh air, open moorland, and remote locations to take in the scenery. The Last of the Summer Wine TV series was filmed at Holmfirth, which is a prominent location in the Holme Valley. The best live music venue in the North of England, the "Picturedrome," is situated in the heart of this thriving town and draws many well-known bands.
