This pleasant village lies in the beautiful Tanat Valley at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, only 4 miles from one of the Seven Wonders of Wales - the magnificent Pistyll Rhaeadr (240 ft high waterfall). Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant was the location for the successful film, The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain, and more recently the film Nativity 2 starring David Tennant. The village boasts two general stores, a newsagent, a Post Office, a butchers, three pubs, a café, a fish and chip shop, and an Indian takeaway. It is surrounded by stunning countryside, providing walking trails for all abilities including the Berwyn Ridge Walk and a trail to the summit of the waterfall. Discover Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, the National Trust Powis and Chirk Castles, medieval Shrewsbury and Chester and the wonderful Snowdonia National Park.

The lovely owners live behind the 3 cottages, but do not intrude unless you need them. We thought the fact that the three cottages adjoin might be a problem, but it wasnât, we only heard the occasional noises through the wall and actually really enjoyed getting to know our next door neighbours.

This two bedroom unit was excellent in everyway ,clean, tidy well thought out with an excellent finish,a lovely gesture by the owners was a bottle of wine and long life milk left in the fridge and some excellent Welsh cakes for our arrival ,a lovely view over the lake could not fault this letting in any way

very clean. lovely view just beside the lake. very relaxing. the double bed is not very comfortable. the internet is hardly not working. need to sort out.
