It’s set in an extraordinary garden where a small rill runs down to a stream below. It’s very well equipped and comfortable. We stayed there because it’s in the heart of the Wealden forest, very near Kipling’s house, Batemans. Just up the road is Brightling church with its pyramid tomb of Mad Jack Fuller. It’s rolling forest country but not far from the sea. Nearby are lovely villages or small towns of Robertsbridge and Battle. It’s an area full of stories.

They have everything provided for and a beautiful garden. The beds are comfy and linen and towels provided. Amazing shower and bath. Lovely wood burner and wood provided too. Lovely welcome pack when you arrive with a loaf of homemade bread that is made by Mary. This a a cottage that makes you feel like your at home with the Larkings from darling buds of may. Lovely countryside and lots of walks. Near Battle abbey and lots of places to visit. To be honest we stayed at the cottage mainly this time as done the visits before but we love just being there. The dinning room has a huge old fireplace from 1650 and it felt like sitting in an old pub when eating. We love it and can't wait to return for a fourth time. Can't say enough about this beautiful cottage. Wildlife all around you. Love it.
