The Old Thatch is a charming, cosy cottage praised for its character, well-equipped kitchen, and quiet, comfortable bedrooms. Guests enjoyed the large garden and found the property to be a good base for exploring the surrounding areas. Some guests mentioned a welcoming host and appreciated the festive touches during holiday stays.
Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage clean and well-maintained, while others noted issues with dust, cobwebs, and pet hair. The inconsistency leads to a slightly above average score.
The cottage's location is appreciated for its proximity to local amenities and attractions. However, concerns about the busy road and difficulty exiting the property due to a blind bend slightly lower the score.
Guests consistently describe their stays as comfortable, highlighting the cosy lounge, comfortable beds, and quietness for sleeping. The need for a more powerful shower is noted, but overall comfort is rated highly.
The property is well-equipped with modern appliances, a smart TV, and an enclosed garden. Some guests suggested improvements such as a more powerful shower and better Wi-Fi in the kitchen. Maintenance issues are minor but affect the score.
Several guests were pleased with the welcome pack and festive decorations during Christmas, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not consistently mentioned or guaranteed, the score reflects this variability.

What a wonderful, cosy way to welcome in the new year. Fabulous cottage - homely and comforting. The most relaxing stay. Super welcome basket which was warmly appreciated. Close to so many places to explore and a stones throw from the coast. Cannot fault this lovely home and we would stay again in a heartbeat.

We spent Christmas here, from 24th December to 27th December 2025. We were three adults and a dog. We found it to be an extremely relaxing break. Very cosy, warm, and quaint. It was just what we needed after a traumatic year.Whilst we appreciate the exiting on to the road was not ideal due a blind bend, we wouldn't agree with other comments that this was hugely challenging - common sense is all that is needed.Overall, we would definitely return and recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful break. The only small issue was that the shower needs upgrading to a more powerful one.

Comfortable and handy for the coast. Located on a bend which made joining the main road quite testing. Also very sparse welcome pack...biscuits coffee tea and milk.
