The Cowstall offers a charming and peaceful countryside retreat, ideal for couples and dog owners seeking tranquillity and beautiful views. Guests praise its privacy, well-equipped kitchen, and access to scenic walks. The unique mezzanine bedroom adds character, though its low ceiling and steep stairs may not suit everyone. While some mention minor maintenance and cleanliness issues, the overall experience is positive, with many guests eager to return and recommend the property for a restful getaway.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, though a few noted cobwebs, spiders, and areas needing a deeper clean, such as the kitchen extractor fan and shower cubicle.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, stunning countryside views, and proximity to walking routes and local attractions. The setting is considered a major highlight by nearly all reviewers.
Guests appreciated the cosy atmosphere and comfortable bed, but several found the mezzanine bedroom's low ceiling and steep stairs challenging, especially for taller or less agile guests. The sofas received mixed feedback regarding comfort.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, with a good kitchen and outdoor furniture. Some guests suggested updates to crockery, glassware, and the shower, and noted the lack of an oven. Maintenance issues such as a drooping shower head and greasy extractor fan were mentioned.
There are no consistent mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Great little barn conversion with fantastic views of the countryside. Tucked away down a little lane, but within 10 minutes walk to a pub! Half an hour by car to the coast, Seaford, Birling Gap, great for the Seven sisters hike!Only down side was the low ceiling in the bedroom, but all the other plusses made up for that!We stayed for 3 nights and had a fab time. I definitely would recommend it!!We will definitely go again.
