About this property

This beautiful 4-bedroom cottage, Wheatlands, is the perfect spot for a family or group holiday in the bustling seaside town of Hayling Island, Hampshire. Set near popular attractions, amenities, walking trails and beaches, the cottage sleeps up to eight guests and also welcomes one well-behaved dog; idyllic company for those seaside strolls. Arriving at Wheatlands, park up on the private driveway, whilst heading indoors to the bright and airy living/dining room. Flooded with natural light from the bi-fold doors, and designed with a contemporary feel in mind, use this space to relax, dine, catch-up or opt for a film night, providing enough space for all eight guests. Next door you will find a shaker-style kitchen, kitted out with state-of-the-art amenities, delivering both a convenient and sleek self-catering experience for your stay. A utility room is located next to the kitchen, with laundry facilities, helping you keep your personal belongings fresh after a day in the countryside. Why not make the most of your own private sun trap, by venturing outside to the enclosed garden, both peaceful yet practical, with a covered pond, dining seating and a luscious lawn to enjoy; sit back and listen to the birds tweet and the pond flow, helping you retreat from the hustle and bustle. As the sun sets, rest your head in one of four bedrooms, all stylishly furnished and well-positioned with privacy in mind; there’s a king-size with an en-suite shower room, a double with en-suite, a ground-floor twin with access to a separate shower room, and a double with en-suite situated in the external annex, the perfect escape for teenagers or grandparents. If you're looking for a place to enjoy the outdoors, look no further than Hayling Island; you’ll be a stone’s throw away from hidden gems, harbours, surfing hotspots, nature reserves and eateries. Head out to Bridge Viewpoint, the sandy shores of Thorney Island Beach, and Dunreyth Alpacas, to feel at one with nature. With years upon years of history across the county, visit Cumberland House Natural History Museum and observe ancient exhibits of fossils and dinosaur skeletons, tour Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and experience one of its simulations, or encounter the tale of D Day, at the D-Day Story Museum. Royal Armouries: Fort Nelson, Hayling Island Sailing Club, and South Downs Planetarium & Science Centre are all family-friendly attractions, whether you’re searching for history, hoping to learn about astronomy, or simply adore the water. For a memorable trip to Hampshire, choose Wheatlands as your family abode.

Hayling Island is located south of Havant, between the charming Langstone and Chichester Harbours, with views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and a variety of family-friendly attractions. This island, which is a classic coastal resort, has three famous beaches that are ideal for walkers and environment enthusiasts. The four-mile-long Hayling Billy coastal path is another popular destination for walkers and cyclists, and the area also provides a variety of sports such as windsurfing, sailing, kite surfing, and golf. Roller coaster rides at Funland amusement park are among the activities available to children. Emsworth, a market town near the Hampshire border with tiny streets, a harbourside, charming pubs, restaurants, and specialty stores, is well worth a visit.

.very clean..everything I needed.. only issue was the sofas.. they are not the sofas that are pictured on the website when I booked.. they were tiny and so uncomfortable.. you cannot relax on them they need replacing to comfortably fit 8 people... also the shower has cracked tiles and was mouldy.. that also needs repairing... other than that it was an enjoyable stay..

Arriving at the house it was super clean you could even smell the freshly washed bedding. Not sure if it was all from the owner or some previous guests but there was lots of extra things there, toilet rolls, cleaning sprays, bin bags, dishwasher tabs, tea bags, sugar ect. We stayed for new year and they even had small touches like Christmas decorations up. Loved it. Any minor issues we had was dealt with very promptly and I couldn’t fault that at all. The following is in no way any complaint and would never stop us staying but purely to help for future stays. My only changes would be slightly bigger sofas or extra chair in the living room as 8 of us felt a tad cosy on the sofas, extra space for clothes in the cabin and the downstairs bathroom shower could do with removing some mould build up on tiles, all toilet brush’s to be changed. Id also say there is THREE bathrooms and FOUR toilets. Thanks for a brilliant stay and any help provided we had a great time and I will definitely be positively recommending to others. I’m sure this is a beautiful stay in the summer.
