There is a great village pub a 15-minute country walk away, and the nearest shops, takeaways, and amenities can be found in Fordingbridge, just over three miles away. This traditional town rests on the banks of the beautiful River Avon and is famous for its beautiful medieval Great Bridge with its seven graceful arches, a major feature that draws visitors to the town. As well as providing a gateway to the New Forest the town offers picturesque walks, a good selection of shops, excellent pubs, restaurants, and takeaways. You can explore the stunning surrounding countryside of the Cranborne Chase AONB straight from the front door and enjoy a varied and diverse landscape of rolling hills, ancient woodlands, chalk grassland, and river valleys. Venture into the New Forest and discover thousands of acres of moorland, heathland, and woodland, frequented by wild ponies, donkeys, and pigs, and a variety of fascinating wildlife. Just three miles away is the attractive town of Fordingbridge, and a short drive will bring you to the edge of the New Forest National Park, dotted with quaint villages with its swathes of purple heather and woodlands, and home to the famous wild ponies. An easy drive north takes you to the ancient city of Salisbury with its beautiful cathedral; or alternatively take a trip south to the glorious seaside resort of Bournemouth, with its lively shopping centre and wonderful Blue Flag beaches. An ideal village base for exploring these three picturesque counties.
