The images depicted on the website leads one to believe the cottage is relatively isolated. It isn’t. It is in the immediate vicinity of what appears to be an industrial estate. Whilst it is true that the rear of the cottage looks out over grassland and fields, the other three sides of the building look out either over the industrial site or at other residential buildings. Two of the bedroom windows look directly either into a window or the wall of the building next door. The entire collection of buildings is within very close proximity to the A342, a busy road carrying fast moving traffic with no facility for pedestrians.I was unable to locate the “scenic walks from the door”. Enquiries of a local resident resulted in the knowledge there were no accessible footpaths in the area, unless I proceeded along and crossed the road mentioned above. There is no facility for country walks from the door scenic or otherwise. The cottage itself was very clean and spacious. The furniture was of a good sturdy standard. There was inadequate crockery for 6 persons and the kettle was beyond de-scaling. It needed to be replaced. Not sure what happened to our “welcome pack”, but we couldn’t find it, not even a pint of milk! There was a good-sized garden area – not fully enclosed, so probably not suitable for toddlers/ young children. The patio was large and well-laid.As we were looking for a cottage in the country with walks from the door (as advertised), we were disappointed. We shall not be visiting again.

Well equipped and very clean cottage. Local amenities were limited - you need a car to access most things .During our stay , the wi fi went down and the TV could not access any terrestrial channels at all - the owner tried to fix these issues but unfortunately was not able to before we left.It was very helpful to have washing up liquid and dish washer tablets provided . The welcome pack was appreciated .
