Guests have had a delightful stay at Sherpa, praising its spaciousness, well-equipped kitchen, and suitability for large groups and families. The garden and games room are highlights, contributing to a homely experience. Its proximity to local amenities, the New Forest, and attractions like Paultons Park is consistently appreciated. While minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with recommendations for future stays.
The property generally receives positive remarks on cleanliness. However, a few guests mentioned issues such as a kettle needing descaling and cutlery requiring a wash, suggesting room for improvement. These appear to be isolated incidents rather than a trend.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to local shops, pubs, and attractions like the New Forest and Paultons Park. Its accessibility to nearby towns and cities also adds to its appeal.
Most guests find the house comfortable, with ample space and a pleasant garden. However, some guests mentioned issues with mattresses and a sofa, indicating that while comfort is generally high, there are areas that could be enhanced.
Facilities are well-regarded, especially the kitchen and games room. Nonetheless, guests have reported minor maintenance issues such as broken toilet seats and stiff keys, which suggests that while facilities are good, attention to maintenance would improve the experience.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.
Settled in the village of West Wellow in Hampshire is this large (>2,100 sqft) contemporary detached house, Sherpa. With five bedrooms sleeping up to 10 guests, the property is located close to the coast and New Forest National Park, with an impressive interior offering everything families and friends need for a self-catering holiday in Hampshire. You'll find a private driveway to unload your luggage and step inside the spacious hallway with room to keep prams, boots and coats. Be wowed by the spacious, sleek kitchen/diner with high-quality amenities and stylish features, including a centre island with a breakfast bar to socialise whilst the group's chef prepares dinner. Tuck into supper here or carry your plates through to the living/dining room with a dining table for 10; why not pop open a bottle of fizz and toast to your homely getaway? After loading up the dishwasher, your whole party can sink into the squishy sofas to watch TV or relax with a good book. You can let the outside in on summer days by opening the patio doors, which lead to a large, partially enclosed garden (gap between the house and garage) to dine alfresco and play games on the lawn! After the day's adventures, freshen up in the cloakroom and throw sandy bathing suits or grubby walking gear into the utility room's washing machine ready for tomorrow. Another space for evening entertainment and rainy days awaits upstairs where the first-floor games room hosts a TV, games console, table football, and a sofa; sure to be the favourite hideout for younger guests! Sherpa has five bedrooms, one of which is a ground-floor double with TV an en-suite shower room ideal for those with limited mobility, whilst the first floor has a king-size master with en-suite, a double, a twin, and a bunk bed. All guests have access to a family bathroom with a bath and shower over to get ready for the day ahead. Explore West Wellow where the Red Rover pub offers a classic British menu, plenty of delicious cakes at Headlands Farm Coffee Shop, and a local convenience store if you prefer eating at home. If you're seeking an outdoor adventure, you'll be in a prime spot for Woodington Lakes Trout Fishery, Wellow Golf Club, and plenty of wildlife and paths through the New Forest National Park for walking and cycling (secured bike storage available in a garage). Be sure to visit Nomansland village for The Lamb Inn pub and the town of Fordingbridge. For thrill seekers and lovers of Peppa Pig, Paultons Park is just a short drive away! The port city of Southampton has plenty of historic and heritage sites to discover such as Tudor House & Garden, SeaCity Museum, and the popular public park of Southampton Common. Alternatively, drive northwest to the medieval city of Salisbury with the stunning Salisbury Cathedral, Fisherton Mill Gallery, and the 18th-century Mompesson House, owned by the National Trust. There's something for the whole family to enjoy with a stay at Sherpa.
Wellow is a lovely village that encompasses both East and West Wellow settlements. There are a variety of things to see and do in the village itself, including pubs and cafés, an ice cream shop and tearooms, a golf course, a village hall that hosts activities and events throughout the year, and shops where you can get all of your goods for your self-catering stay. The community is ideal for nature lovers who want to explore Hampshire's countryside on foot or by bike, and the village is bordered by the New Forest National Park, so you'll be sure to view some of the best sites on the southern coast.

Sherpa was the ideal holiday setting for our three generation family group of nine. A well equipped homely experience for larger groups to holiday together with a nice garden area. We enjoyed the plentiful Sunday lunch at The Red Rover pub and the space and activities at the local play park, both are just a 5 minute walk away from the property. We found Sherpa to be ideally situated to visit Paultons Park, Beaulieu, Longleat and Southampton. We would definitely recommend holidaying at Sherpa.
