Guests say

Guests have found the property to be a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained holiday spot with stunning views and a homey feel. The presence of a nearby airfield adds a unique charm for plane enthusiasts. Some concerns were raised about the clarity of information regarding on-site facilities and the absence of a washing machine, despite it being advertised. The property's location is appreciated for its tranquility and proximity to local attractions.

The property consistently receives high praise for its cleanliness, with guests noting it as spotless and well-maintained. The efficient response to a maintenance issue also reflects positively on the property's upkeep.

The location is highly regarded for its attractive views and proximity to local amenities. The unique experience of watching aircraft from the property adds to its charm, although the distance to certain facilities like the swimming pool has been noted.

The property is described as comfortable and cosy, with a particularly comfortable bed mentioned. However, some guests noted the second bedroom's beds were narrow, and the presence of many ornaments, while aesthetically pleasing, could be impractical for families with young children.

Facilities are generally good, but there was a notable issue with the advertised washing machine being unavailable, which caused inconvenience. The property is well-equipped otherwise, and the maintenance response is prompt.

While the reviews reflect a well-stocked kitchen and appreciation for the details that made guests' stays easier, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful gestures that could be expected by future guests. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Bembridge sits on the most eastern point of the Isle of Wight, and it is claimed to be the biggest village in England. Bembridge used to be an island in its own right, and until the Victorian era, was a collection of wooden huts and farmhouses, hence Bembridge remains somewhat detached from the rest of the island even today, which adds to its charm. Bembridge is considered to be one of the most upmarket areas on the island and offers a surprisingly busy intertidal sheltered harbour, which is always full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats providing a constant flow of traffic to and from The Solent. From the harbour you will find quiet beaches consisting of sand and pebbles, perfect for swimming, beachcombing and crabbing and in high winds you will see plenty of kite surfing activity. As you walk along Bembridge beach, you will discover the lifeboat station, cafes and the famous Crab & Lobster Inn, as well as the magnificent Culver Cliffs as your backdrop. The village centre offers a good range of small shops, with its award-winning butcher's and 'The Best Dressed Crab in Town' which is situated in Bembridge harbour, you can also sample local produce from the greengrocer's, visit the art gallery and much more; in fact everything you should need while holidaying here.

Not the best of starts as it meant we couldn't unpack and settle in until after 18.30. But it was dealt with efficiently and we were grateful for the offer of payment for eating in a local restaurant. But the longer we stayed, the more omissions and potential problems became apparent. Just finding an unnumbered, un-named holiday home amongst 200+ identical buildings isn't easy. How about providing one of the sitemaps given away free by the site office? In 25+ years of cottage hire we have never arrived to find absolutely no instructions or local information (doctors, bus routes, cab firms, emergency instructions, takeaway's etc.). Wi-fi password, CH boiler instruction, (even location). Cooker. Microwave. Knowing the CH boiler location would have been useful. Refuse disposal instructions. All absent. The cottage itself would have been dangerous if we had children with us.,Cables dangled from the second bedroom TV, and the satellite dish on the veranda. Light fittings fell from the kitchen cabinet. and mini lights draped around the main TV begged for small children to grab them.. If you plan to take children and use the listed on-site facilities: note that they are sited across a busy country road . Overall, a lot of thought has been put into providing necessary equipment, for guests, but very little into what is needed to help them enjoy their stay.. After all, that's what it's all about

It is a very nicely maintained and equipped lodge. Two things firstly the second bedroom has extremely narrow beds ,I went with 2 adult children and they were slightly squished!!!!. Also there is a lot of ornaments everywhere , which although pretty to look at ,makes the place look cluttered and would be very stressful for parents with little kids . The swimming pool and facilities are in the other part of the holiday park , a bit of a trek. But this part is much quieter and stunning views .we loved sitting on the deck and watching the sunset .the planes taking off was intersting .the lodge was very clean and well equipped and thank you for a lovely stay .

Watching the sunset from the veranda on comfortable chairs was amazing. Our short stay was very enjoyable and we were very pleased with our choice of venue. Thank you very much
