Freshwater is the largest village in West Wight and is a popular destination for visitors with the spectacular Freshwater Bay area lying to the South of the main village. The Bay is easily recognised by its chalk cliffs and the imposing “Stag” and “Mermaid” rocks that sit at the edge of the coast, which are a magnet for photographers on the Isle of Wight.
Freshwater village is the main shopping area that services the West of the Isle of Wight with a number of established stores and a supermarket. There are two churches in Freshwater which are worth a visit, the medieval All Saint’s and the thatched church of St Agnes which is in the Freshwater Bay area. Freshwater Bay has a fantastic pebble beach which is very popular all year round for swimming, walks and boating, and from here it is easy to access the coastal path.

Lovely quiet location, everything clean and tidy, with detailed information. We may return and do some of the lovely walks nearby which wasn't possible due to the heatwave. There is no hairdryer, but it was so hot it wasn't a problem. The fans were very useful. There was limited choice at the local supermarket, so if you are staying a few days like we did, maybe shop in a bigger store on route from the ferry!

Lovely family weekend away. Fantastic to have fans in each room. Great touch to arrive to bread, butter, milk, coffee, cold water and juice. Highly recommend and hope to visit again.

We loved this bungalow, which is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac. It was nicely decorated and accessorised, and had a calm feel to it. Everything felt well thought out and any instructions were clear. We were left a generous welcome package and the bungalow was very well-equipped. There is a beautiful paved garden, planted with roses and shrubs and has 2 seating areas, which we enjoyed using. We had a lovely relaxed stay and definitely hope to return.
