Horseshoe Cottage is a cosy and comfortable property, appreciated for its homely feel, log burner, and enclosed garden suitable for dogs. It serves as a great base for exploring the island, with its rural location offering easy access to local attractions. The host's helpfulness is noted, enhancing the stay. Some guests found the stairs steep and the traffic noisy, but overall, the cottage is well-regarded for a peaceful break.
The reviews present a mixed view on cleanliness. One review highlighted a decline to stay due to the poor state of cleanliness, suggesting significant room for improvement. However, no other reviews specifically mention cleanliness, so it's challenging to provide a comprehensive score.
The location is generally praised for its rural charm and proximity to local attractions, making it a good base for exploring. The presence of a local pub adds to the appeal, although some guests noted the traffic can be surprisingly noisy for a village setting.
Guests found the cottage comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and a homely touch. The log burner was a highlight for cooler evenings. However, the steep stairs were a concern for some, particularly those with mobility issues.
There is insufficient information to accurately score the facilities and maintenance. While there are mentions of a need for refurbishment and issues with the booking system, there are no consistent details on the state of the facilities to provide a fair score.
The owner's thoughtfulness is evident, with guests mentioning helpful communication and a visit with items during their stay. While this suggests a high level of consideration, it's important to note that such personal touches, while delightful, may not be guaranteed for every visit.

Very well equipped, cosy cottage. Lovely to have a secure garden to let dogs out for early morning/late night toilet trips. Such a peaceful village.

The online booking system was a nightmare and cancelled my booking so I had to go through it all again and when I tried to message vrbo about something it just kept repeating I had provided an invalid email. So, ended up having to call the cottage owner directly. He was amazing and couldn't have been more helpful, even dropped in on our first day there with some items for us.The cottage itself is really cosy, very well equipped and was perfect for our Christmas break away. The village is quiet and the pub has very welcoming staff and owners and serves good quality food. We will be booking again!
