This lovely village offers a range of amenities including a cosy pub, tearoom and village shop ideal for stocking up on supplies. Right from the door you can join on of the bridleways and footpaths at the end of the lane, which lead to Brighstone Downs. From here, the famous Tennyson Trail can be followed to The Needles on the western tip of the island or inland to Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. The five-mile stretch of gently curving sand and shingle beach at Brighstone Bay is easily accessible, offering diving, snorkelling, surfing and windsurfing facilities. For those looking for an adventure further afield, why not head out to Tapnell Farm, a family-friendly attraction (8 miles) with animals, soft play, an outdoor play area and much more.
