Monktonmead is a Scandanavian style lodge sleeping up to 6 people in a double room, bunk room (adult size beds) and two mattresses at floor level in the eaves (restricted headroom and not suitable for very young children). The lodge has a full modern kitchen and bathroom with shower pod (no bath). There is a comfy lounge & dining area. The lodge is in a secluded setting, with one other lodge (Woodside) in the owners large garden. Each lodge has a private decking area with BBQ and outdoor seating. An indoor heated pool is available all day & evening and is shared between the two lodges. The garden is visited regularly by red squirrels and a variety of birds including woodpeckers, jays and blue tits.

We moved to the Island in January 2020, from Surrey, and love Island life with its open spaces and varied coastline. We have a Romanian rescue dog (tri-paw) who enjoys life here too!

Our lodges are set on the edge of Pig Leg Lane nature reserve owned by Gift to Nature. Whilst the setting is secluded, with no neighbours, we are walking distance to Ryde town and beach (and the hovercraft or fast cat to Portsmouth). Nothing on the Island is very far from us and we are happy to recommend places to visit and eat out although many guests just like to chill in the garden.
