This delightful, detached cottage overlooks St. Helen’s Green on the scenic Isle of Wight. Boasting a character feel over two floors, The Limes is a traditional home for families eager to access the many delights of this island. Upon arrival, park up in the conveniently located off-road parking spaces before getting to know your new home from home. The open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas offer plenty of space for communal living with that cosy traditional feel, appointed with a host of integrated appliances including a range cooker along with a standard electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and an adjacent utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Spend your down time in the sitting room, wonderfully presented with a woodburning stove and plush seating for six people. There’s also a formal dining room where you can host special family meals. As you seek some shut eye, three tastefully presented bedrooms await, including the king-size master and two doubles, with one situated on the ground floor which is ideal for those with limited mobility. Enjoy a moment or two in the enclosed garden, offering a raised seating deck, lawn and a barbecue, perfect for those balmy evenings. When you’re ready to explore, the village of St Helens offers some delightful attractions, from rock pooling on the scenic beach or dining in the beachside café, to watching cricket on the green while enjoying a bit to eat in a café, pub or restaurant. Coastal walks come in abundance or look for an energetic hike if you’re up for a challenge. Head to the nearby village of Bembridge, home to a working harbour full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats going for their daily catch, plus a great range of little shops, including an award-winning butcher, outstanding local fishmongers, local produce greengrocers and an art gallery. If exploration takes you further afield, the whole island can be explored by car within an hour, meaning there will always be something for everyone. Box off the attractions of the Isle of Wight with a memorable escape to The Limes.
St Helens is located on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight, between Bembridge and Seaview, in a seaside setting on high elevation. St Helens is a traditional English village, with the village green at its heart, offering cricket and football pitches, a children's playground, and breathtaking views of Bembridge Harbour and Culver Down. There are also excellent restaurants, a pub, a newsagent, a post office, and a grocery store in the village. The Duver, an NT stretch of shingle and sand that was previously the site of a Royal links golf course, is only a short walk away. With sand and shingle, this beach is ideal for building sandcastles and collecting seashells, as well as crabbing off the Bembridge Harbour Causeway. There's also the popular Baywatch Café, which has everything you need for a fantastic beach day, as well as spectacular views of the Solent and St Helens Fort. Between 1867 and 1880, the fort was erected to safeguard Portsmouth from a French invasion, and at low tide during the summer, a mass walk of up to 2000 people from the beach to the fort and back is held, complete with driftwood fires and barbecues.
