Guests say

Flip-Flop Lodge in Sandown offers a cosy and comfortable stay, with guests appreciating the homely layout, quiet location, and well-maintained site. The property is generally clean and provides good value for families, with easy access to local amenities and a swimming pool that children enjoy. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues, occasional inconsistencies with hot water, and a lack of privacy in the kitchen. While there are areas for improvement, most visitors had an enjoyable holiday and would consider returning.

Most guests found the property clean and tidy, though a few mentioned superficial cleaning and isolated issues such as dirty light fittings and leftover hair. Overall, cleanliness was satisfactory but could benefit from a deeper clean.

The lodge is praised for its quiet setting at the back of a clean, well-kept park, with convenient access to Sandown, local shops, and public transport. Some guests found directions could be clearer, but the location itself is highly regarded.

Guests consistently described the beds and seating as comfortable, and the lodge as cosy and homely. Minor issues with bedding quality were noted, but overall comfort was a highlight for most visitors.

Facilities such as the swimming pool and parking were appreciated, but several guests reported issues with hot water, broken blinds, lack of kitchen privacy, and some maintenance needs. The property matched its description, though some amenities like WiFi and a second toilet were missing.

There were no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Overall the lodge is value for money and was a perfect size for the 4 of us but the shower needs seriously looking at we were having cold showers most of the time and luckily the weather was hot but it is not ideal as you can't shower properly in cold water....

It was a nice little caravan and is comfy, cosy and in a good location. However, there were some aspects that were not as favourable. The information for the van states that there are 2 toilets which is not true. The water does not heat up very well at all and the shower was only ever luke warm at best. We had to buy washing up liquid as there wasn't any provided and pre wash cutlery, crockery, pans and utensils before using as they were dirty and the jug had cooking oil in it. There was a clod of dark hair in the shower room sink plug and we found lots of long, dark hairs in various places. It says that towels are provided and they are kept in the wardrobe, but there were only 2 bath towels and one hand towel, so we had to use the tea towels as well as there were 3 of us staying. It would've been useful to have WiFi access for looking at websites of attractions. One thing to be aware of is that the people in the green van next door (possibly live there?) let their toddler run up and down their van constantly from around 11:30pm / 12am until 1am and that was a nightly occurrence. We did also get woken up nearly every morning by the workers banging about and making noise early. I'm sorry to pass so many negative comments because we did actually have a nice time, but it's essential to be honest.

Everything was clean, comfortable and matched the written description and photos. Some of the window catches were difficult to work and need attention before they seize up.What a pity there is no fenced outside space, but that is clear from the photos. The access to the park and finding the Lodge needs rewriting in the details. (The postcode is no help as it points to the centre of the park.)The only car access is from Perowne Way, Sandown, almost opposite the mini market and very near the bus stops. (Only pedestrian access from The Fairway/Golf Links Road.)To find pitch H25 I would suggest " Go straight on from the entrance in Perowne Way, past the on site pool and pub on your right and reception on your left. H is the last row on the left, immediately before a car park and Flip Flop is the third lodge in"
