Guests say

Woodland View in Shanklin is praised for its peaceful location, spacious layout, and proximity to local attractions, making it ideal for families and groups. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, multiple bathrooms, and scenic views. While many found the property clean and comfortable, some noted issues with maintenance, such as the fridge, shower, and occasional cleaning lapses. The house offers a relaxing base for exploring Shanklin and the Isle of Wight, with most guests enjoying their stay and recommending the property.

Several guests found the property clean and well-presented, but there are repeated mentions of issues such as stained bedding, mould, cobwebs, and insufficient pre-arrival cleaning. Some towels and the washing machine were noted as having unpleasant odours. While many guests were satisfied, the inconsistency in cleaning standards was a common theme.

The location is consistently highlighted as a major strength, with guests enjoying the quiet setting, lovely views, and easy walking access to Shanklin's old village, beach, and local amenities. The peaceful surroundings and proximity to woodland and parks are frequently praised.

Guests generally found the house spacious and comfortable, with good heating and pleasant living areas. However, some mentioned soft or thin mattresses, draughty windows, and occasional issues with bedding. Overall, comfort levels were good, but with some room for improvement.

The property is well-equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, and multiple bathrooms, which guests appreciated. However, maintenance issues such as a broken fridge shelf, faulty kitchen tap, shower problems, and garden upkeep were noted. Facilities are good but would benefit from more regular maintenance.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Woodland view is an ideal house to stay in, the house is in a nice location very comfortable and quiet, from the house you can walk into old Shanklin and carry on down to Shanklin Chine which is lovely or more shops and the beach. The only thing that was missing was a guest book as it would of been nice to recommend a few places we visited or eaten etc as other guests might of been interested, but, that is only minor, we all enjoyed our holiday, I've never slept so well! If you are staying at Woodland view Pencil cottage & The crab pub highly recommend for food and atmosphere. Also take cash as well as on the Isle of Wight especially old Shanklin they prefer it in some places.
