South view was a wonderfully quaint and ideal place to explore the island. It was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. A short drive to Yarmouth where there are plenty of amenities and near Freshwater there is a Tesco superstore for supplies. We had a fantastic holiday and when we book to come back we will start with Southview.

Southview Cottage was a bit like staying in someone else's house rather than a holiday cottage. So many seemingly personal items scattered around. Very interesting.Beautifully quaint and in a quiet out of the way location. All you can hear is the birds.The main bedroom is very light despite it's small windows and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was our favourite room, very homely and welcoming.Some of the decor however is a little tired and could really do with a refresh for example the stained sofa mentioned in another review. A couple more sharp kitchen knives wouldn't go amiss either.The listing mentions the stairs which are indeed narrow and steep, but not a great problem. The very limited upstairs headroom is not mentioned however and if you are 6ft or more makes it quite uncomfortable to move around. We feel a warning of this should be included.Much as we loved the cottage, the headroom will probably prevent us returning.
