A wonderful, detached property set in a rural location, perfect for dog and nature walks. Very close to the car ferry and within walking distance of a pub.. 2 steps to entrance.

Westfield is the perfect retreat for a small family or a couple wishing to be close enough to amenities but wanting that rural setting. There are plenty of native red squirrels running around and a local buzzard who visits the property on a regular basis. This is a truly magnificent experience for you wildlife lovers. The property is situated up a rough track and is teeming with trees and nature. The outlook from every window is just stunning in every season. The picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth is just a short drive from the property; here you will find a selection of cafés, bars and restaurants.
The historic harbour is guarded by Yarmouth Castle, the last addition to Henry viii sea defences. Walk around the castle and discover the recreated rooms of the 16th century or simply sit outside and enjoy a picnic while admiring the views out to the sea.

We really enjoyed the experience of being in a delightful woodland setting. The cottage was cosy and very well equipped, although a small wardrobe would've been useful. A torch is also useful if arriving back after dark. We have been to IOW a number of times before visiting a family member, so we were conveniently placed to visit a number of places, despite having to negotiate the bumpy road from the cottage! We saw the red squirrels regularly, and also had visits from woodpeckers, jays and other birds!

Absolutely filthy we had to drive to find a supermarket on arrival for cleaning products and the next day for bleach to clean the cloth which was black after just cleaning the dining table....lots of clutter everywhere the shelves hadn't been dusted in months....luckily the bedding was clean but there was a horrible damp smell on arrival so had to purchase scented candles for all the rooms and bedrooms.....mosquitoes in the bedrooms which caught us by surprise and we both had over 10 bites after the first night.....the owners did warn of uneven track to property but there is also a mile long unmade single road to get to that track with no lighting.....very dated which is fine but all the outside is broken and rotten woodwork the balcony very unsafe and the extention is on a slant and tilt it felt like being at see....could go on but will end here

A lovely lodge in the woods. Beautiful setting. Absolutely dreadful mattress and pillows which the owners have been made aware of in previous reviews and ignored. I also contacted the owners and cottages.com to raise this but not had a reply from either. A real shame. The owners have been incredibly thoughtful in so many aspects like toiletries, games, books, rainy day basket. Our children loved the tree swing.Communication before our stay was excellent and questions were responded to quickly. With a few improvements I would definitely recommend this place.
