The village of Kingston, just moments away is home to The Black Robin pub, while Barham village has The Duke of Cumberland, each accessible on foot. This is also a good area for cycling and the nearby city of Canterbury has many tourist attractions to grab your attention, including the oldest cathedral in England. You can take a boat trip out on the River Stour and drink in the wonderful, scenic views and ancient history or perhaps you might want to explore one of the many walking trails in the city. If you like long walks though, the North Downs Way is not to be missed, where you'll discover history at each twist and turn. The hut and surrounding fields are lovely and peaceful. The garden of the hut is well fenced off so your pup can’t escape. We also visited three pubs, all within walking distance, which were called the Black Robin(closest pub), the Mermaid Inn(my personal favourite) and the Duke of Cumberland. We drank and ate in all three pubs and everything was very good. Thanks Lucy for your great hospitality! -Matt

The shepherds hut is cosy and comfortable, and you get to look out and see sheep, guinea fowl and Violet the pig! The owners are so friendly and were very welcoming. The gated area made it so easy with our greyhound, and we enjoyed the outdoor fire cooking option and the little log burner. Will definitely come back :)
