Guests say

Kingfisher Oast is a charming cottage set in beautiful grounds with a heated pool and local wildlife, offering a blend of character and modern comforts. It's well-equipped for a family stay, with thoughtful touches like a welcome pack including wine from the nearby vineyard. The property is conveniently located for exploring the area and enjoying village walks and local pubs.

The property generally meets cleanliness standards, but there are mentions of dust, cobwebs, and a musty smell. The outdoor dining table required cleaning before use. These issues suggest room for improvement in cleaning attentiveness.

The location is highly praised for its beauty, tranquillity, and convenience, offering a remote feel while being close to local amenities. It provides easy access to country walks and is well-received for its proximity to nature and local attractions.

The cottage is described as cosy and homely with comfortable beds and a welcoming atmosphere. However, noisy floorboards and a lack of soundproofing in the downstairs bedroom are noted, which could affect the comfort of some guests.

Facilities like the pool and outdoor games are appreciated, but there are comments about the pool not being heated and the property's bathrooms needing updates. The presence of a piano in an attached property is questioned due to noise. Some maintenance issues are highlighted, such as slippery stairs and creaky floorboards.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome pack, including wine, and the invitation to pick fruit from the orchard. However, it should be noted that such gifts are kindly provided but not guaranteed for every stay.

Overall really enjoyed our stay at Kingfisher Oast. Easy access to the M20 for getting around and the property itself was set in lovely grounds. The cottage was well equipped and the lovely wine provided from the winery next door much appreciated. The use of a heated pool was a real added bonus as the weather was still good in late September. If you had someone with you who had difficulty with stairs the downstairs bedroom and bathroom would be great although I'd have to say that there could be a problem if there was also someone in the bedroom above. The old floorboards don't seem to have been changed and the noise when someone's walking around up there could disturb anyone trying to sleep below.Although each room has a bathroom they are at the point where they could do with some updating. We expected a bit more of a luxurious feel for the price we paid although they were perfectly functional. The grounds are really nice and again very useable. We were told to help ourselves to the apples and pears in the small orchard which was really nice. However, there is a bit of a feeling of neglect about them which could easily slip from charming to uncaring if left much longer.Nice place to stay but with some provisos

Lovely location, beautiful calm surroundings, one drawback are the very noisy floorboards, if something could be done about those, perfect.

We really couldn't recommend this location enough. We were out of the village enough to feel remote but close enough for local amenities. The owners were so lovely and came to introduce themselves when we arrived and let us know all about the location and local attractions. The building was full of character but modern enough that we felt right at home. Great for kids, especially the pool and outdoor area. We would love to come back again soon.
