Chosen for it's location next to the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, the quirky cottage still contains furniture once owned by the iconic author, E Nesbitt. Quiet afternoons in the shady gardens, trips to the beach just down the road, picking blackberries in the lane, were all part of our restfull holiday. Well-equiped appart from a few items - washing machine ony but a small clothes horse and old line, no razor point; we mostly self catered. The village is tiny but for a few small but sufficient shops. The ony noise was the rumble of engines passing the garden. Would go again.

On the whole we enjoyed our visit to the Jolly Boat and it was very well equipped generally.Cleanliness was a bit disappointing, quite a bit of dust and cobwebs but it may have been down to the property not being occupied the previous week. Kitchen surfaces all needed a good scrub before we were happy to cook.Would have loved to have a reading lamp in the lounge and a comfortable chair that was a standard height for our elderly parent would have been great.Overall a good stay, but could have been better!
