No smoking.. Beautiful country cottage set on its own in a perfect village location of Hernhill just 6 miles in each direction to Faversham, Whitstable and Canterbury only 10 -15 minutes’ drive away. This cosy cottage has beautiful and comfortable country styling and countryside views, on the edge of a pretty village with no immediate neighbours. When the owners are not away they live next door which is completely separate. You will completely have the main cottage entirely to yourselves with private access to the gardens which are for your use only. There is great outdoor seating areas for both dining and relaxing. The location is great as it is in the countryside, but have great access to the seaside being only 6 miles in each direction to the beautiful seaside town of Whitstable, the city of Canterbury and the lovely market town of Faversham.

We have been coming to Kent as a family, with gratifying regularity, since the early 1990s. In that time we have encountered a considerable number of cottages: some very charming, some quite eccentric. But this one takes the crown.Poppy’s cottage manages that rare feat of being both utterly charming and gloriously comfortable. There are all the modern conveniences one might dream of (like a big, full kitchen with anything from an airfryer to a French Press), while everywhere you look there are those wonderfully bucolic details that remind you why one comes to Kent in the first place. It is the sort of place that makes you briefly consider abandoning your actual life and taking up residence in its bright breakfast room.The welcome was every bit as lovely. There was generosity (plus an extraordinary cornucopia of local produce from the nearby Farmers Market), flexibility and an almost forensic eye for detail everywhere in the cottage. Theresa really knows what she is doing and we share a similar artistic taste it seems. The whole cottage is just so well done, from the carpets to the doorhandles. She showed the kind of hospitality that makes you feel less like a guest who has arrived for a few nights and more like someone who has been personally invited over.The location could hardly be better. Perched between Faversham and Canterbury, the cottage enjoys that particularly happy combination of rural tranquillity and easy access to places worth exploring. Faversham, with its lovely Saturday market, old streets and unmistakable Kentish charm, is a delight for a morning excursion, while Canterbury is close enough to tempt one with its extraordinary history, architecture and overal city bustle. After a day out, the return to the peace of the cottage feels all the more rewarding.We left with the distinct feeling that we had been very fortunate to spend a few days in such a beautiful place, and very much hope to return.

Poppy's Cottage was an excellent place to stay for our week in Kent with a family of 4 with teenagers along with grandparents and our dog. The property was well presented, very clean and had all of the amenities we needed.The garden was a welcome treat and fully enclosed to allow our dog to freely explore. The house is isolated and quiet with Faversham only 10min away, along with an easy drive to the beach. The host was incredibly welcoming and the welcome pack full of local goodies. We will definitely look to book again next time in the area.
