Settled in the quaint, leafy village of Barford St Michael, just a short distance west of the nearby town of Deddington, lies this delightful, five-bedroom holiday home, Manaton. Built with a tasteful mixture of Horton and other local stone, and boasting off-road parking, well-presented interiors, and a great position just a brief drive east of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this charming property welcomes a large family or a group of sharing friends seeking a relaxing escape in the wonderful home county of Oxfordshire. Park up, unpack, and make yourself at home in your lovely new lodgings. A fully-equipped kitchen awaits the chosen chef with all the appliances required to rustle up tasty, home-cooked meals that can be devoured at the breakfast bar, or as a group around the dining table in the orangery, which enjoys an abundance of natural light and peaceful garden views. In the evenings, kick back and relax in the sitting room, where you and your loved ones can stick a film on the TV as you're all kept toasty by the inviting warmth of a woodburning stove. When sleep calls, refresh with a rejuvenating bath or shower on your way to hunker down for a well-earned rest in any of the five inviting bedrooms. After savouring your morning coffee out back on the garden furniture, lace up your boots and head out to explore what your local area has to offer. In Deddington, you can stock up on homely supplies at the Co-op, buy some fresh, local produce at Eagles butchers and delicatessen, before settling down for a hearty pub lunch at The Unicorn Inn. There is also a monthly farmers market that takes place in town on the fourth Saturday of each month, one of the largest of its kind in the country! Drive north to Warwick, where you can roam the historic grounds of Warwick Castle, before you head back south to enjoy an afternoon strolling around Stratford-upon-Avon, a medieval market town and former home to William Shakespeare, and the current tourist hotspots of the Stratford Butterfly Farm and The MAD Museum. The National Trust spot of Stowe is also accessible by car, home to pristine gardens and an abundance of scenic walking trails. Spend the day at Soho Farmhouse, which has everything you need to experience the ultimate countryside retreat including spa facilities and fantastic food; be sure to also pay a visit to the magnificent Blenheim Palace, with its impressive architecture, palace state rooms and various exhibitions to enjoy throughout the year. If you're looking for more, head south to the city of Oxford, where you can spend time at the historic spot of Oxford Castle & Prison, roam the lush landscapes of South Park and the CS Lewis Nature Reserve, or brush up on local history at the Story Museum or the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. All of this and more awaits when you book a stay at Manaton.

Deal is an historic, Georgian coastal town boasting two castles, both open to the public, two small museums, and two markets held weekly. The town offers restaurants with cuisine ranging from the traditional, to exotic delicacies from the Orient, but, if fish is your desire then why not catch your own by enjoying a spot of fishing from the beach or pier? Deal Castle is an ideal place for children to explore, rugged and exciting with audio guides to help you get the best information, whilst taking in this impressive castle built in the time of Henry viii. Walmer Castle, which became the home of The Duke of Wellington, and was the late Queen Mother's favourite, is just along the coast with gardens and tea rooms open from April until October, and their scones are highly recommended! Deal was the most important Naval base in Britain during the Age of Sail and although long gone, its maritime heritage is still inherent in its Conservation Area architecture and house names. Deal became a smuggler's paradise during the 1700s, and heritage street maps show where rum and brandy were rolled by casket avoiding the Excise men. Why not take the cycle path from Deal to Kingsdown, a pretty Kent village with views across to France? Here you can rest and recuperate in one of the three pubs all serving excellent food. If golf is your game then there are 12 courses nearby but Royal Cinque Ports, Royal St. Georges and Kingsdown are within an easy distance. For sheer imposing magnificence nearby Dover Castle is an absolute must visit on any visitor's list. Spectacularly situated above the White Cliffs of Dover, this magnificent castle has guarded our shores from invasion for 20 centuries. Deal won the Daily Telegraph's ‘High Street of the Year’ award in January, and was voted as the number one coastal town in Britain by them in November, 2014. Also named as one of the ‘top 30 weekend retreats’ in March 2014 by The Times, Deal is the perfect location for families and friends looking to pursue outdoor activities or laze on the beach enjoying the sea air. Stroll along the cobbled streets, sit and relax outside a bistro or tea room with a coffee, or just gaze out to sea; Deal has something for everyone!
