On arrival we were shown to the lodge and it had the wow factor, the lodge itself looked lovely, completely private and had an amazing view of the lake. The first problem came when we were using the oven, firstly the trays were dirty and covered in grease so had to wash them. Then every time the oven door was opened the smoke alarm would go off even when the food was just being put in so no smoke at all! Spoke to manager who said this had never happened before which we later found out that was false. A oven mitt was provided which was covered in dries food! Also the dishwasher was filthy with bits of food in. The table outside was covered in cigarette ash and ashtray not emptied, decking at front not been swept. When we went to get in the hot tub there was a line of brown/green scum round the water line of half of it. I cleaned this off but within half an hour had come back. Again spoke to manager who said this had been emptied and cleaned but would get maintenance to do this in the morning so unable to use on first night. In the morning this was emptied and cleaned but when we went to use about 2pm the scum had returned. Spoke to manager again who said nothing he could do as maintenance had gone home! Next morning I actually spoke to the maintenance man who couldn't have been more helpful ( even brought us a clean oven glove) the hot tub was then sorted. After asking we did receive a refund for the hot tub. We did have a nice stay but not what we originally paid for, for something described as 5 star the house keeping needs to be a lot better

As explained in my previous review, the accommodation was amazing. The hot tub was lovely but the noise until midnight was too loud.
Michelle
Stunning lodge with even better view. Overlooking the pond with all sorts of wildlife. Private outdoor space is huge! Private hot tub also which was fantastic. Overall absolutely stunning.
