Burford is one of the most well-known Cotswold settlements, if not THE most well-known. Burford is one of England's most scenic towns, with its ancient bridge, old stone homes, and stunning Tudor and Georgian frontages. The town was initially a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford that eventually evolved to be an important regional crossroads and affluent wool town, and is known as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', offering easy access to Oxford and Cheltenham.

The AGA in the kitchen is not allowed to be used, So there is no heating in the kitchen which has a stone floor. It is a very cold kitchen. The toilet downstairs doesn't flush and the two upstairs are difficult to flush. A plumber could sort in 15 minutes. The reading light in the lounge doesn't work. There is no lampshade in one of the bedrooms. The boiler broke down on the Sunday and we had to have four visits to put it right.

Extremely quiet once inside the cottage considering it is on the very busy High Street. The only item we couldn’t find was a heat protection glove to use when opening & closing the log burner.

The beds were so comfy and the showers powerful. We liked the coat-hangers on pegs and plenty of drawer storage. Well stocked kitchen and nice surprise of welcome foody treats. Heating and hot water all worked perfectly and lovely to have everything to light a cosy fire. Instructions for entering and leaving the property were all clear and guidance folder had all the info we needed. All in all, a lovely decorated property, in a perfect location, tucked off the High Street. Thank you, Claire & friends
