Stepping into the kitchen/diner, the designated chef of the group will be delighted to find everything you could possibly need to rustle up home-cooked meals before settling down at the dining table to plan the days ahead. After dinner, relax into your evening within the sitting room, where a woodburning stove is much welcomed during a winter’s evening. We were a party of 8 and there was plenty of room for us all including the dog. 6 of us in the main building and 2 in the annexe which has its own fridge (which was most needed as a beer/drinks fridge as the kitchen fridge wasn’t big enough). I particularly liked the log burner on what was a cold and damp weekend. Also a nice touch was the welcome pack of essentials. A typical Cotswold setting with a very nice village pub where we had a lovely meal. The only (small) gripes were that upon arrival there were a a few dead insects which I thought should have been vacuumed up and no kitchen scales (I know a bit pathetic but I’m a keen cook and my sticky toffee pudding was a disaster). All in all a great weekend.

Six of us stayed in Easter Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed the facilities. Absolutely up to the standard we have come to expect from Sykes. We had some meals in several well known and guide recommended hostelries but the best meal and ambience was in walking distance at the "local" ~ The Rose & Crown. A couple of housekeeping matters ~ there would appear to be a wasps nest in the roof because a few "dozy" wasps fell into the end bedroom to the left going up the stairs. A few more coat hangers in the master bedroom would be appreciated and we couldn't find any black bags for the bedlinen. I think the woodshed must have ended up on the fire because we couldn't find it or any logs ! None of these minor matters detracted from our enjoyment of Easter Cottage.
