The Lodge was lovely, very new. It had a hidden en suite in the main bedroom which was a surprise. It was very clean, with all new appliances. It’s got a lovely decking area and hot tub which was great. It’s also in a really good location for exploring the Cotswolds, about a mile from Chipping Norton. We would definitely recommend, and hope to return for a longer stay in the summer!

When entering the lodge found a door had been damaged. When we started to unpack we found the bin had rubbish still in it also found large amount of hairs in the bedroom floor and in the shower. The bedroom drawer still had someone else’s belongings in them. Later that evening we went to use the hot tub and it was cold and we were unable to use it. The lodge seems to have a lot of flies and also found a fly that had been killed on the bedroom wall. The lodge doesn’t even have clothes hangers to hang your clothes on. We went to raise our issues with the lodge the next morning and we told by the receptionist that they don’t look after the lodge it’s down to the lodge owner that isn’t back until Tuesday which was no help to us. He did call later that day saying the lodge was clean and tidy which it clearly wasn’t. We were offered a free nights stay - no thanks not in a dirty lodge. It also would not be cost effective for us to travel the distance to stay in a lodge for 18hours that would not have the hot tub facility available as they are unable to guarantee it working the first night. If the owner is offering an additional night stay surely there is an admittance that the lodge was unacceptable because if it was we wouldn’t have been offered a free stay.
