Step through the patio doors onto the furnished, enclosed decking where you can enjoy morning coffee or evening drinks surrounded by trees and birdsong. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom, while two twin rooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements. Outside, the private garden and driveway blend beautifully into the woodland backdrop, providing good habitat for birds and small wildlife. A well-behaved dog is warmly welcomed too. Tucked within Sandford Holiday Park, guests can enjoy the serenity of nature while also having access to very good on-site amenities. With the purchase of a park pass, from the park reception, you can make full use of indoor and outdoor swimming pools, children’s play zones, sports areas and family entertainment, creating a fun-filled stay for all ages.
Beyond the park, Dorset’s many attractions await. The Jurassic Coast (a World Heritage Site) is within easy reach for all visitors, where dramatic cliffs and hidden coves create unforgettable views. Visit Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove or the golden beaches of Bournemouth and Weymouth or Swanage, for a true seaside experience. The nearby market town of Wareham offers riverside walks, independent shops and cosy pubs, while Arne Nature Reserve and the Purbeck Hills provide peaceful trails and spectacular views. Families will love Monkey World and The Tank Museum, both just a short drive away. Unfortunately, neither of the latter two attractions are dog-friendly. After a day exploring, return to your lodge to relax on the decking, perhaps with a glass of wine or a favourite alternative, and enjoy the woodland setting and the sunset through the tree canopy over the decking area. We really enjoyed our break at Portland with our dog and would stay again. The spacious accommodation was clean and comfortable. No previous doggy odour a big plus. Having an en-suite an advantage. The garden with hedging provides privacy for the plot. The good weather meant we were able to sit on the enclosed terrace which is an advantage with a dog as the garden is not enclosed. However the terrace hadn’t been swept and the chairs not cleaned which was a little negative. The outside hose for cleaning dodgy paws is very useful. The property is well located for access to the area’s popular spots. Studland beach is lovely, about 30 minutes away and is dog friendly even in high season (on lead).The only other minor issue for us was that it wasn’t clear on the key collection instructions where exactly the key box was located.We thoroughly enjoyed our break and would definitely stay again.

On arrival we were pleasantly impressed There was a card on the table dated APRIL informing us we had a welcome pack obviously this no .longer applied. During our stay the battery in the smoke alarm kept going off which was very annoying and we waited a day for it to be changed. The ,kitchen tap kept dripping and the decking had not be swept so my wife did it and cleaned the chairs. This did not spoil our holiday but we felt it was not worthy of a 5 star rating .

We left within 24 hrs , although the lodge was clean , the bed in the main room was awful , I’ve not seen a bed or mattress like this in over 20+ year’s and spent the whole night in pain , yes I do have osteoarthritis and a bad back and neck but I’ve slept in bad beds before but never like this , set me off for the rest of my holiday in a lot of pain and problems , then had to find the money to stay somewhere else , there was a contact name but with no number to contact , the site being one way and the lodge being close to the road was like being in a traffic jam or lorry’s , tractors and cars constantly . I had seen reviews about the bed before we went and have seen they’ve been removed . I hope if anything the owners have the decency to put in a new mattress as very unfair to leave this one in the lodge
