Guests say
Fox Cottage offers a spacious, peaceful retreat with beautiful gardens and lovely countryside views, making it ideal for dog owners and families seeking a quiet break. Guests consistently praise its tranquil setting, proximity to Chipping Sodbury and the Cotswolds, and the welcoming, homely atmosphere. While the cottage is clean and comfortable, some guests note that certain facilities, such as the kitchen equipment and mattresses, could benefit from updating. Overall, the property provides a relaxing and enjoyable stay in a picturesque rural location.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with several describing it as very clean and cosy. However, a few reviews mention issues such as mould in the bathroom and dirty kitchen items, indicating occasional lapses.
The location is highly praised for its peaceful, rural setting with lovely views, easy access to Chipping Sodbury, Bristol, and the Cotswolds, and excellent opportunities for countryside walks.
Guests appreciate the spaciousness and homely feel, but some mention uncomfortable mattresses, thin curtains, and an old sofa. Despite these points, most found the cottage comfortable for a relaxing stay.
The cottage is well-equipped for a self-catering stay, but several guests highlight dated kitchen appliances, lack of some basics, and the need for minor upgrades to bring facilities up to modern standards.
The host is described as friendly and helpful, and the property is child and dog-friendly. However, there is no mention of welcome gifts, and some guests noted a lack of basic supplies such as tea, coffee, and toiletries. Please note that gifts or extras are not guaranteed.
