There are many places to hire bicycles locally if you so wish and just a short 3 mile cycle ride along the Camel Trail is the Camel Valley Vineyard for the less enthusiastic riders, also there is secure private storage below the property for you to store bicycles. The narrow streets of Bodmin are great for history lovers with two quirky museums, the old library and the 15th-century jail offering exciting tours and overnight ghost walks․ There are distant views of the jail from the bedroom window, this truly impressive building is now a luxury hotel with a cocktail bar and restaurant.
With a view towards St Petrocs Church opposite, this apartment has all amenities close by. It is the perfect spot for exploring the area, being within easy reach of the fabulous Cornwall beaches of both the north and south coasts. With Padstow 15 miles to the north and Fowey 11 miles to the south you can decide on the day which direction to head in. The north coast is a stunning spot for surfing, exploring rugged cliffs and hidden coves and is home to the fishing port of Padstow with its National Lobster Hatchery, interesting museums, pubs and restaurants serving local seafood.
The magnificent, 15th-century Prideaux Place with its lovely gardens and deer park is also close by, whilst in the other direction you can relax at the quieter bays of the south coast; the popular Eden Project is home to a beautiful biodome rainforest and hosts a variety of music events throughout the year. Explore along the south coast and find the town of Charlestown, home to an interesting harbour providing local produce, and the town of Fowey offers an aquarium and little bus tours telling stories of smuggling and battles. Fowey and Charlestown are also known for their striking Tall Ships, whilst the nearby 19th-century National Trust Lanhydrock House has gorgeous gardens with bike trails.

Bodmin is a historic town with narrow streets, shops and pubs and is perfectly placed for exploring all the great surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast. On the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail, whilst the Camel Trail, for cyclists and walkers, winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow.
