Please note: Holidaymakers, couples and family bookings only.. Harrowbeard House is a spacious and contemporary detached family home, built by the owners in the centre of the village of Marhamchurch. The property has a large dining room/kitchen, and a spacious living room with cosy wood burner and three sets of French doors leading out to a large, south facing patio terrace with stunning views across rural countryside and to the sea beyond. Set in the pretty and quiet little village of Marhamchurch, it is just 2½ miles to the fabulous coastline and popular beaches, including Widemouth Bay and the tourist hot spot of Bude. The traditional village inn is just a short walk away and has a menu featuring local produce. The village shop is also just a short walk away. Bude has three sandy beaches and a good selection of shops and restaurants, many specialising in locally caught seafood, along with a golf course, tennis, horse riding, an indoor splash pool, surf schools and bowling. The picturesque fishing villages of Tintagel, home to the mystical ruins of a 12th-century castle, Rock and Padstow are close by, and this breathtaking coastline boasts many unspoilt beaches and hidden coves. The wild beauty of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin moors are all within easy driving distance, as is the fabulous Eden Project. For family fun, there’s the Big Sheep and Milky Way adventure parks, Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium. Horse riding, golf and fishing within 5 miles. Beach 2½ miles. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurants 1½ miles.

Lovely big house with stunning views of fields and the sea in the distance. Very well equipped with everything we needed and a great base for exploring Cornwall. Great welcome pack and lovely owner. The house has enough space for adults and children to be together or have their own space. Great sized rooms with comfy beds. Day trips to the Eden Project, Clovelly, Lands End and St Michael’s Mount, and Tintagel Castle all working 1.5 hours. Lovely walk from the house to Widemouth Bay across the fields and along the canal, can also walk into Bude along the canal or cliff tops. Would definitely recommend 😊

Some very minor suggestions for improvement: : kitchen equipment, (no useable frying pan, scissors or bread knife), kitchen sink plug not functioning, R.H sink in main bathroom not draining properly (all easily fixed) perhaps a larger bed in 2nd double room and waste bins in rooms but they didn’t detract from our overall satisfaction. Beautiful location with outstanding views, even in bad weather, close to beaches and shops and immaculate presentation and cleanliness. Probably the best UK holiday home we’ve rented. Would highly recommend.
