Perfectly located for both touring the stunning north Cornish coastline and beach holidays, this charming old thatched cottage is set on the edge of the small town of Stratton, under two miles from the top coastal resort of Bude. As you arrive at this picture postcard cottage you will sense the character of Thatchings immediately. On entering into the welcoming open-plan kitchen and dining area a lovely family feel will greet you, where you can all gather together to spend quality time with one another over a tasty homemade meal, the wealth of appliances here sure to be of assistance on a self-catered stay, with plenty of tempting eateries being in easy reach too when you don't feel like cooking. Going through into the delightfully spacious yet snug sitting room, you will find a large fireplace with a multi-fuel stove at its centrepiece, providing a welcoming warmth to the room in the winter months as you snuggle down for a family film night. There are three bedrooms in the cottage offering a choice of sleeping arrangements for your group needs, consisting of a master bedroom with king sized bed, a second bedroom with double bed, and a final twin room with two single beds, each bedroom offering a stylish interior in which to rest. Begin the day with a soak in the bath before pouring yourself a warming cup of coffee and stepping out into the garden; being fully enclosed, it makes an ideal spot for children to play, with a fine decked area with loungers and table and chairs for total relaxation for the adults. Stratton is a small, historic market town established in Roman times of fine Georgian houses and thatched cottages. Spend a day surfing on the beach of Bude, or venture further afield to discover the excitement of Tintagel. Surrounded by excitement at any time of year, Stratton is a truly exceptional holiday base from which to explore Cornwall.

The shower was a little underpowered and the water drained very slowly. Parking was very interesting, there was parking at the side but because people parked on the lane opposite it was a little tight . My husband managed it ok but I would have hated doing it .. Great location and the local pubs had food reasonably priced and tasted good. Great dog walk near by seven bridges.

Perfectley situated for days out along the cornish coast and Bude is a beautiful place to stay. We will be definatley going back to this Cottage.

It was clean and welcoming. We enjoyed exploring the village and surrounding areas. Summerleaze beach is nearby and a wonderful place for the family and our dog to enjoy. We would highly recommend Thatchings for a great holiday.
