We had a wonderful week at Well Barn. The house is located perfectly to explore North Cornwall being just off the A39. With easy access to stunning coastline and beaches. Plus attractions such as Tintagel, St Nectan’s Glen and the camel trail. Padstow, Rock, Port Isaac all a short drive. The accommodation was perfect for our family of four. With a lovely garden for the children to play and have meals in the evening. Helpful hosts who quickly answered any queries. We would definitely stay again.

We were thoroughly impressed with Well Barn. Inside, it has been renovated to a superb standard and is tastefully decorated with intriguing and beautiful things to see in its various crooks and crannies. The walls are of thick stone, the floor downstairs paved throughout with massive, smooth, dark flagstones, while upstairs you can really appreciate how ancient wooden beams have been incorporated into the design. It is comfortable and cosy throughout and spotlessly clean, the kitchen well-equipped with oven, fridge and dishwasher, while in the separate utility room there is a freezer, washing machine, iron and ironing board, barbecue set and logs for the wood burner. Wifi boosters, providing somewhat patchy wifi Internet access, are also located in the utility room. Outside is also delightful. Although there are many attractions to visit within just a few miles of the cottage (for example, Trebarwith Strand, Bodmin Moor, Boscastle harbour, Tintagel etc.), we also enjoyed just sitting in the very pretty and private back garden, reading and eating round the table there and enjoying a barbecue. The owner, who is very kind and considerate, provided an excellent information pack about the property and locality prior to our arrival and responded immediately to any queries we had during our stay. We were also delighted to find milk, tea, biscuits and a bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival. Finally, we should mention an unusual feature of the property: downstairs there is a baby grand piano which can be used for a small extra fee that goes towards the tuning and maintenance of the instrument. For us, this was a greatly appreciated bonus. Overall, we had a fantastic week at Well Barn and it is definitely a place we would like to return to.

Perfect quiet little getaway with lovely private garden, in easy reach of local shops & beach, and just off a main A road so the whole county is very accessible. We've stayed several years in a row because it suits us perfectly.
