Cleanliness

Unfortunately we’ve been unable assess this category comprehensively enough based on the reviews we’ve received from guests about this property.

Location

The location is consistently described as stunning, superb, and special, with easy access to the river and nearby towns via water taxi. The views and the busy marina add to the charm of the location.

Comfort

The property is praised for its comfortable beds and homely feel. However, some guests mentioned dampness in the downstairs rooms, which suggests a slight discomfort for some.

Facilities

The house is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and suitable for large family groups. The availability of boats and water sports equipment is a plus. However, the non-functioning patio doors and the dampness issue in some rooms indicate room for improvement in maintenance.

Thoughtfulness

The owner's friendliness and provision of fresh asparagus from the garden are thoughtful gestures. However, it should be noted that such personal touches may vary and are not guaranteed.

About this property

As you walk down to Creekside from the parking area, the view of Mixtow Creek just below the house is breathtaking. All the main rooms look on to the moored boats and activity on the water. A short stroll takes you from the pretty walled garden down to our private pontoon where visitors can keep a boat, either their own or hired from Fowey River Boat Hire. The large covered porch, where visitors keep their surf boards, fishing rods and oars, leads through the stable door to the boot room and past the cloakroom to the kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the things you would hope to find in your holiday home. The large island looks onto the Fowey River, there are two Miele ovens and microwave, and a large French style fridge freezer will take care of all your cold food storage. Double doors from the kitchen lead to the sitting/dining room with a wall of sliding glass doors facing the water and the river towards Fowey and Polruan, and another glass door leads to steps to the walled garden with pond and summerhouse, linked by the wrap around glass and stainless steel balcony where you can enjoy the view over Mixtow Creek and downstream to Fowey There are two outside eating areas, one is on the terrace right above the water and another is in the walled garden from which you can keep an eye on the boats moored below whilst you sip something chilled.
