The bustling town is only a short walk from the house and there you will find a good selection of pubs, restaurants, and cafes in what is increasingly becoming a foodie hotspot. There is always plenty of sailing activity on the water and you must catch the regular foot ferry over the river to check out the quaint cottages and alleyways of Polruan. For a day out at the beach it is just a brief stroll to Readymoney Cove where you can enjoy the sandy beach with its popular café, paddle the clear waters or just soak up the views. Walkers can join the South West Coast Path within minutes and there are plenty of local circular walks giving splendid coastal and harbour views. Driftwood is an ideal choice for the whole family and a perfect base for exploring at any time of the year.

South Cornwall's little hamlet and civil parish sits at the mouth of the Fowey River. An important commerce hub was established in the town's estuary thanks to the River Fowey's natural harbour. The harbour and its environs are brimming with things to see and do. Everything from boating and fishing to golfing and learning about the area's history can be found in this charming town. There are regular harbour tours that depart from the town's quay during the summer months, but if you'd rather to get out on the water yourself, you may hire a kayak or paddle board and set out on your own adventure!
