Launceston is a short car journey away, with a castle to tour and a golf club to take advantage of, before reaching Trethorne for further amenities and the chance to explore the Hidden Valley.

A little settlement called Lifton can be found in the upper Tamar Valley, near to Launceston on the en route A30 towards Cornwall. This charming neighbourhood, which formerly stood across the old A30 London to Penzance trunk road, is endowed with a village store, Post office, a fantastic pub, and three excellent restaurants. An award-winning farm shop/pick-your-own complex with a good bakery and on-site restaurant is located at the far end of the village. Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor can both be accessed by car, and all of the major beaches and Cornish tourist destinations can be reached in approximately 45 minutes, making this location ideal for travelling around the South West.
